Wednesday 27 January was Holocaust Remembrance Day.
During the day, our grade 8 students had the opportunity to listen to Barbro Posner, who is the daughter of Lea Gleitman, who survived the Holocaust. Barbro's lecture on her mother's life during the Holocaust touched us all, her words made us all picture and understand the hard life a young girl, during very difficult times, and her struggle for survival.
It is important to work with values in school, the right of all people to be different from each other and the equal value of all people. Holocaust is a gateway to show our young students how terrebile things once got and that we all have the responsibility to take a stand for everyone's right to exist!
The lecture was held digitally and was very much appreciated by our students and we in IES Helsingborg give our thanks to Barbro and hope that we will see more of her in the future.
